Opening Hours

We look forward to welcoming you back on Thursday October 2nd 2025.

The museum will be open from 11am until 4pm Monday to Friday. 

On Wednesday 1st October, a member of the team will be working in the museum from 11.30am, but we cannot guarantee that staff will be present until 4pm. 

Visits outside our normal opening hours can be arranged, subject to staff availability

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us staff the museum – if you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you!

 

Admission 

The Tweed Salmon Fishing Museum is FREE to visit.

Donations are welcome and help us keep the museum running. The museum has a JustGiving page if you would like to make a donation.

Private Visits

Private visits are available on request. Please enquire for availability.

 

 

 

River Tweed Salmon Fishing Museum

Explore the history of salmon fishing over 8,000 years and discover the story of its birth and development as a worldwide sport from the River Tweed.

Displaying over 3,000 objects of the history, art and nature of salmon fishing.

Exhibitions of the nature and environment, salmon life cycles, river art, models, historic maps, books and literature, poetry, vintage fishing tackle, fly tying and film display screens.

Private viewings can be made by arrangement.
